Ken Coffey, II named Executive Director of Self Regional Healthcare Foundation

(Greenwood, S.C., September 2, 2015) – The Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of Kenneth R. “Ken” Coffey, II as new Executive Director of the Foundation. Coffey assumed the position in August 2015.

“Ken brings more than 28 years of hospital fundraising experience and expertise to Self Regional Healthcare Foundation,” Foundation Board Chair Chip Stockman said. “His knowledge of philanthropy and donor cultivation is significant and make him an exceptional fit for this position. We are looking forward to working with him and are excited for what he will bring to the Foundation and our community.”

Prior to joining Self Regional Healthcare Foundation, Coffey was vice president and chief development officer for Frederick Regional Health System in Frederick, Maryland, for 28 years. In this role, he managed the hospital’s fund development efforts and administered the gift income programs. During his tenure he spearheaded fundraising campaigns that raised more than $68 million to help the hospital meet the community’s healthcare needs.

Coffey received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Frostburg State College in Frostburg, Maryland, and his master’s degree in public administration from the University of Baltimore.

Coffey is active on the regional board of the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) and serves as the Chairman of the AHP Board Governance and Leadership Committee. He also has been involved in various fundraising capacities with the March of Dimes, the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Diabetes Association and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Coffey and his wife Jan have two children, Ken and Karla, and look forward to becoming part of the Self Regional Healthcare and Greenwood communities.
