Great Workplace Award for Fifth Year
(April 23, 2012. GREENWOOD) — Not only has Self Regional Healthcare been rated one of the world’s top workplaces for the fifth straight year, but it is also one of only two organizations in the world to hold that distinction.
Self Regional joins Stryker, a medical technology company headquartered in the United States, in earning recognition for five consecutive years for one of the most productive and engaged workforces in the world.
The Gallup Organization has announced Self Regional is one of 27 organizations across the world to receive the 2012 Gallup Great Workplace Award. The presentation will be made next month in Omaha, Neb.
Based on the most rigorous workplace research ever conducted, the award honors organizations whose employee engagement results demonstrate they have the most productive and engaged workforces in the world. Gallup officials say engaged employees are more productive, safer, more customer-centric and more profitable. They are also 3.5 times more likely to be thriving in their overall lives, experience better days and have fewer unhealthy days.
“Not only are we one of only 27 winners in the whole world this year, but our level of engaged and productive team members actually rocketed to 25-1 in our latest Gallup survey,” noted Jim Pfeiffer, President and CEO of Self Regional. “Officials at the Gallup Organization continue to be amazed.”
Ron Millender, chairman of the Self Regional Board of Trustees, said the hospital’s highly engaged team gives it a huge competitive advantage in the marketplace.
“There are certainly challenges ahead; but with the engaged colleague base that Self Regional has now – it will be much easier to attack those challenges in the future,” Millender said. “That is something that I think is lost from time to time; that is, that a highly engaged workforce is a competitive advantage and not just a feel good exercise.”
