The community is invited to participate in Bone Marrow Registry on Aug. 7, 2014 at the Self Regional Cancer Center from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Be The Match Registry (http://www.bethematchfoundation.org ) is partnering with Self Regional Healthcare to identify more individuals to join the registry.
Blood cancers like leukemia or other diseases such as sickle cell anemia may require a marrow transplant for survival. Having more individuals on the registry provides a greater chance for a match.
The registry process takes about 15 minutes and requires a cheek swab. No appointment is necessary.
