The Self Regional Heart and Vascular Center is holding a community-based Automatic External Defibrillator, or AED, grant program to train and equip community members in case of a cardiac emergency. The program’s goal is to increase awareness of what to do in a cardiac emergency, train more people on how to perform hands-only CPR and to equip various facilities in the Lakelands region with AEDs in case of an emergency.
A limited number of life-saving AEDs will be made available through our grant program. Organizations selected for the grant will receive one of the devices as well as training on how to use it effectively to save lives.

All types of organizations are encouraged to apply, regardless of size or service, however submission of the application does not guarantee approval of the AED. Only organizations or businesses located in the Lakelands region of SC (Greenwood, Laurens, Edgefield, Abbeville, McCormick, Saluda and Newberry counties) are eligible for the grant.
Grant applications will be reviewed based on criteria that will be set forth by our AED program committee comprised of physicians, community liaisons, and members of our Heart and Vascular Center.
