Change to Visitation Policy

(Greenwood, S.C., December 21, 2021)- We are happy to announce that beginning Wednesday, 12/22/2021, we will implement a change to our visitation policy. Visitation hours at the hospital will be expanded to 8:30 AM through 7:00 PM, 7-days-a-week. Also, up to 2 care partners (visitors) will be allowed to accompany the patient. Visitors may rotate, as long as no more than 2 are visiting a patient simultaneously. This rule applies to all inpatient and outpatient areas at Self Regional Medical Center and Edgefield County Healthcare, the Montgomery Center and SRH physician practices. (Office hours at physician practices vary.)

Exceptions: The EDBA (Emergency Department Behavioral Area) is excluded from this policy, and the ECC lobby will allow 1 care partner at a time. Also, no visitors are allowed for COVID-positive patients, and those 16 years old and under are not allowed in the facility unless they are the patient. 

We made this decision to expand our visitation hours and the number of allowed visitors after receiving feedback from many patients, families, and physicians that less restrictive visitation would create a better experience for our patients and their families. It is our hope that by expanding the visitation guidelines, we will better meet our patients needs and still protect our patients, visitors, and team members from undue risk of exposure to COVID-19. We will be monitoring the COVID numbers in our community closely and will make changes to the visitation policy as needed in the future.
