(Greenwood, SC, September 16, 2022)- Self Regional Healthcare recently conducted a comprehensive hospital safety assessment to help determine where improvements may be needed to better ensure the safety of our patients, visitors, and team members.
One of the identified opportunities on the main campus was to add additional safety measures in the Emergency Care Center (ECC.)
We are happy to announce that yesterday, September 15, 2022, a very important safety measure was installed at our ECC. Our Emergency Department is now protected by a Concealed Weapon Detection (CWD) system. This state-of-the-art technology uses advanced sensors and artificial intelligence to detect a wide range of concealed weapons on a visitor entering the ECC.
This tool will not affect access to the building, impede traffic flow or negatively impact patient care in any way but it will greatly enhance the SRH Security team’s ability to detect risks and keep us safe.
In addition to this change at our main campus, outpatient areas throughout our organization are also being evaluated for safety opportunities.
We want every one of our patients, guests and team members to know that we are committed to making the appropriate changes that will raise the level of safety at Self Regional Healthcare.
