(Greenwood, S.C., March 23, 2023) Greater Greenwood United Ministry and Community Initiatives, Inc. were recently awarded funds from Self Regional Healthcare’s Community Health Committee to provide support to their respective programs.
The Greater Greenwood United Ministry received $73,249.39 to expand the support of their current services including free medical clinic and dental clinics, mobile health clinics, diabetes management, Women’s Health Clinic and more. The GGUM also offers primary medical, internal medicine, gynecological care and an on-site Pharmacy for the convenience of the patients served.
Community Initiatives, Inc., a medical home for uninsured individuals, received $139,500 from Self Regional’s Community Health Committee to address specific health interventions in the community like access to health services through their medical clinic, La Clinica Gratis, screenings and immunizations, support for environmental quality concerns, mental health, mother and child healthcare, substance abuse and much more.
The Self Regional Healthcare Community Health Committee meets regularly with the goal to improve health prevention and wellness for the residents of the community.
