(Greenwood, S.C., July 17, 2023) Beyond Abuse, the Boys and Girls Club of the Lakelands Region, The Food Bank of Greenwood County and Meg’s House were recently awarded funds from Self Regional Healthcare’s Community Health Committee.
Beyond Abuse received $85,000 to be used towards hiring Child Therapist Support, Client Services Specialist, Forensic Interviewer and a Director of Finance and Administration.
Boys and Girls Club of the Lakelands Region received $15,000 from Self Regional’s Community Health Committee to continue support of their Starz24 Teen Center, a safe space for community youth to stay committed to their education and building a healthy lifestyle. The money will put towards meals and snacks.
The Food Bank of Greenwood County was granted $29,000 to maintain their Family Health Nutrition Education Program. The program not only educates individuals about nutritious food, but also bridges the access gap to nutritious food choices, leading to healthier families and healthier communities.
Meg’s House, providing housing and supportive services that reduce the impact of domestic violence and chronic homelessness in our communities, was granted $30,000 towards salaries and operational costs to support their Transition to Rapid Re-Housing Program, which aims to help participants find and move into permanent housing faster.
The Self Regional Healthcare Community Health Committee meets regularly with the goal to improve health prevention and wellness for the residents of the community.
