Gallup Names Self Regional a Great Workplace for Eighth Consecutive Year.
(Greenwood, S.C., July 21, 2015) – Self Regional Healthcare, a not-for-profit healthcare system serving the 250,000 residents of the Lakelands region, has been named a recipient of the Gallup Great Workplace Award for an eighth consecutive year. Self Regional is the only Gallup winner headquartered in North or South Carolina, and is one of just 40 organizations in the world named to the 2015 list. Other Gallup Great Workplace Award winners include Mars, Inc.; Hyatt Hotels Corporation; CarMax; and Wells Fargo.

A group of SRH representatives traveled to Omaha, Nebraska in early June to accept the award.
Despite challenging economic times and sweeping changes impacting the healthcare industry, Self Regional was recognized for its highly engaged workforce, and ranked in the 96th percentile when compared to other organizations around the world. In addition to surveying team members from the organization, the Gallup Organization uses financial data, patient encounter data, safety results and employee retention statistics to determine the winners.
Only 13% of employees worldwide are engaged at work, according to Gallup’s study on the State of the Global Workplace. On average, an organization included on the Gallup Great Workplace list has nine engaged employees for every actively disengaged employee.
