Lake Greenwood covers 11,400 acres and provides local residents with opportunities for fishing, water sports, and other fun recreational activities. With a surface elevation of 439 feet and 212 miles of shoreline, Lake Greenwood runs nearly 20 miles and connects with the Reedy River in Saluda.

Connect Lake Greenwood is a volunteer-led initiative bringing residents, businesses, and local chambers of commerce together to actively promote and improve the lake and community. They advocate for, promote, and enhance enjoyment of life on the lake for everyone who lives, works, and plays at Lake Greenwood and maintain an active social and special events calendar for activites on the lake and off.
Lake Greenwood State Park
The Lake Greenwood State Park is one of 16 South Carolina sites built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the 1930s. The park is 914-acres and provides multiple campsites and trails for the nature-lovers in your family. The park features two boat ramps, a camping ground, trail and playgrounds, and many picnic areas.
Greenwood Parks and Trails
Greenwood has a thriving Rail to Trails program converting old rail lines into walking trails throughout the community. The program has three parks and 12 miles of trails created by local Parks Foundation.
Ninety Six National Historic Site
Greenwood County is home to the Ninety Six National Historic Site. The site has been on the National Register since 1969 and became a National Historic Site in 1976. The site commemorates the Battle for Star Fort and the colonial trading post of Ninety Six. Each year the park welcomes over 50,000 visitors from across the U.S. The park offer several special events throughout the year including the annual Autumn Candlelight Tour.
