Change to Visitation Policy

We are happy to announce that beginning Wednesday, 12/22/2021, we will implement a change to our visitation policy. Visitation hours at the hospital will be expanded to 8:30 AM through 7:00 PM, 7-days-a-week. Also, up to 2 care partners (visitors) will be allowed to accompany the patient.

Self Regional Healthcare Imaging Center Designated an ACR Breast Imaging Center of Excellence

By awarding facilities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, breast MRI (including MRI-guided breast biopsy), and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy).

The American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline program helps reduce barriers to prompt treatment for heart attacks – starting from when 9-1-1 is called, to EMS transport and continuing through hospital treatment and discharge. Optimal care for heart attack patients takes coordination between the individual hospital, EMS and healthcare system.

The top 20 CAHs, including Edgefield County Healthcare, scored best among CAHs as determined by the Chartis Center for Rural Health for Best Practice in Quality. There are approximately 1,400 critical access hospitals in the country. The rankings were recently announced by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA).
