Three Nurses Recognized As State’s Best With Palmetto Gold Awards

Three of Self Regional Healthcare’s registered nurses have been recognized as the best in the state with the Palmetto Gold Award for excellence in nursing, and another of Self Regional’s nurses was awarded the organization’s annual scholarship.

The Self Regional Health Express, a 42-foot mobile vehicle, will be utilized by Self Regional to offer wellness and prevention services such as clinical exams, screenings, referral and health education to serve the seven county region of Upstate South Carolina.

Self Regional is making significant improvements in our facilities over the next two years. To make way for these renovations, a number of services and entrances must be relocated to allow for construction to take place.

Jo'Noah was born at 23 weeks at Self Regional Medical Center and weighed just 1 lb. 6 ounces at birth. The little boy, who lives in Greenwood, is a natural jokester, according to his mom, and is growing and developing at a rapid pace.

NICU Baby Reunion Planned for April 27

All babies (and their parents) who were patients in Self Regional’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) are invited to attend the 2013 NICU Reunion on Saturday, April 27, at 10 a.m. at the Veranda inside the main entrance of Self Regional Medical Center.

Student volunteer alumna Kandace Ryans is now an LPN working at Internal Medicine of the Piedmont. Ms. Ryans worked as a student volunteer for many summers during high school.

Self Regional Healthcare seeking student volunteers

Self Regional Healthcare is now accepting applications for high school and college student volunteers for the summer. Student volunteers work an average of 50 hours during the course of the summer, or about 10 hours per week.

Self Regional's Cancer Center offers comprehensive cancer care to residents of the Lakelands region, and includes the latest treatments in medical oncology and radiation oncology. Medical oncology is led by cancer specialists Brian Hunis (pictured), M.D.; Joanna Sadurski, M.D.; and Elena Vician, M.D.

Self Regional Cancer Center Achieves Quality Certification

Self Regional Healthcare’s Cancer Center has achieved QOPI® Certification by the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative, an affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (http://www.asco.org). Self Regional is the first health system in the Lakelands to achieve QOPI certification, and one of just three certified practices in the state of South Carolina.

Self Medical Center Laurens Opening January 28

Self Medical Center • Laurens, the Lakelands’ first patient-centered designed healthcare facility, officially opens January 28. The 28,000-square-foot medical center is located at 22580 Highway 76 East in Laurens and is the new home for physician practices Family Healthcare • Clinton and Internal Medicine • Laurens.
