Professional Bio
Dr. Bryan Green is a native of Milton, Florida. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia with a major in Biology. He received his Medical Degree from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama where he was a member of the Medical Honor Society Alpha Omega Alpha and a Merit and Waterman Scholar. He also received the Merck Award for superior academic achievement, the Samuel Eichold Award for outstanding achievement in Internal Medicine and was a 3+3 Scholar being accepted into the accelerated honors program combining fourth year of medical school with first year of internal medicine residency. Dr. Green completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of South Alabama Medical Center where he received several awards including the Victor Benator Award for excellence in teaching and was a three time recipient of the P. D. Award for excellence in academic writing. He was also one of 5 national recipients of the American Liver Foundation resident scholar awards.
Dr. Green completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina where he participated in numerous research studies. He published over 30 articles in peer review journals and presented at 10 national meetings. For these efforts he was chosen as one of 15 national recipients of the Research Excellence in Gastroenterology and Liver Disease Awards. On completion of his fellowship, he joined Digestive Disease Group and The Greenwood Endoscopy Center in July 2004. He is on staff of Self Regional Healthcare where he is an active member of the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation Board. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and Hepatology and is a reviewer for Gastroenterology for the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Green is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American College of Physicians. Dr. Green is also a member of the South Carolina Medical Association, the South Carolina Gastroenterology Association and the Greenwood County Medical Society.
